SCAM ALERT: SMiShing Scam – We have recently learned of a SMS text message scam being presented as an attempt to collect Tolls on behalf of “NY Toll Services”. Please be advised this is NOT an authorized communication from EZ-Pass or the Toll Agencies associated with EZ-Pass. We advise you NOT to access the website contained within the message if you should receive one. EZ-Pass New York will never ask for a customer’s Date of Birth, Social Security Number, or any other personally identifiable information. Real communications from EZ-Pass will only refer you to the following official websites: EZ-PassNY.com and TollsByMailNY.com. If you receive this fraudulent SMS and would like to file a complaint with the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center please visit, www.ic3.gov. This is a site dedicated to sharing information on the Internet crimes across law enforcement agencies.

Change In Drawbridge Operating Schedule

Effective June 6, 2024

As published in the U. S. Federal Register / Vol. 89, No 89 Tuesday May 7, 2024 / Rules and Regulations, the U. S. coast Guard amends the drawbridge operations of the Atlantic Beach Bridge as follows:

Section 117.799 Long Island New York Inland Waterway from East Rockaway Inlet to Shinnecock Canal

PART 117—DRAWBRIDGE OPERATION REGULATIONS ■ 1. The authority citation for part 117 continues to read as follows: Authority: 33 U.S.C. 499; 33 CFR 1.05–1; and DHS Delegation No. 00170.1. Revision No. 01.3 ■ 2. Amend § 117.799 by revising paragraph (e) to read as follows: § 117.799 Long Island, New York Inland Waterway from East Rockaway Inlet to Shinnecock Canal * * * * * (e) The draw of the Atlantic Beach Bridge across Reynolds Channel, mile 0.4, shall operate as follows: (1) From October 1 through May 14 the draw shall open on signal from 8 a.m. to midnight. (2) From midnight to 8 a.m. year[1]round, the draw shall open on signal if at least eight (8) hours of notice is given by calling the Bridge Tower at 516–239– 1821. (3) From May 15 through September 30, the bridge will open on signal except from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day, when the bridge will open on the hour and half-hour.

ABOUT US

The Atlantic Beach Bridge is a 1,173-foot (358 m) long toll drawbridge carrying NY 878, connecting Lawrence and Atlantic Beach (Park Street), New York, while passing over the west end of Reynolds Channel. The bridge also provides direct access to the Rockaway Peninsula via Seagirt Boulevard. The original bridge opened in 1927, and the current bridge opened in 1952 and rebuilt in 1998.
